A very special day for Sophie

A truly heartwarming surprise took place at MedAustron today. When 10-year-old Sophie left the treatment room after her radiation therapy, something completely unexpected was waiting for her: a blue, koala-like figure with huge ears!
For Sophie—a huge Lilo & Stitch fan—that moment was pure magic. But she wasn’t the only one feeling that joy. Her mother, Nadja, shared in that happiness just as deeply. Much like Lilo and Stitch, the two share an exceptionally close bond, marked by love, solidarity, and mutual pride.
Over the past few weeks at MedAustron, Sophie has shown remarkable courage and great strength. She has faced every challenge with a bravery far beyond her years. Now that her treatment is behind her, she’s looking forward to what’s ahead: summer, sun, beach, and sea. Together with her family—including Grandma and Grandpa—she’s already excited about a special trip abroad this year. And of course, a suitcase with the right design is an absolute must.
The word “Ohana,” familiar from Lilo & Stitch, means “family” in Hawaiian. It stands for the idea that no one is left behind or forgotten. It also symbolizes togetherness, friendship, and care—values that Sophie and her mother embody in a very special way.
Today’s surprise was more than just a lovely moment. It was a reminder that even in difficult times, small gestures can bring unforgettable joy—and that Ohana is always there, every step of the way. Thank you to Cosplay Entertainment Wr. Neustadt for your support!
